Dundee Piano

More info

This website is run by me, Ed Muirhead. I love music and play the piano and other instruments.
Dundee Piano is part of face the music - music lessons and music therapy.

Around the age of seven I started piano lessons. My teacher Mrs Whitefield inspired me greatly, she helped me learn how to enjoy making music. My mum and dad encouraged me the whole way, taking me to lessons and buying a piano, which they brought to the house in a wheelbarrow!

I always enjoyed music, and spent a lot of time playing piano: as time went on, making up tunes and songs too...

In those early years I passed a couple of grading examinations (ABRSM 3 and 5) with Grade 5 Theory (distinction). I studied to Grade 7 level at school, and can still play those pieces now!

Over the years I've continued to play, with solo shows across the country (website), as part of several bands, and also regularly at church.

My strengths are sight-reading, improvising and playing by ear. Give me any page of music, I'll play it for you - or play any tune in any key and I'll join in!!

I have an MSc in music therapy, and full PVG scheme membership.
